When you sign in (via email/password or Google), we collect:

• Your email address
• Your Google display name and profile photo (if signing in with Google)
• Your display name or username
• A unique identifier linked to your account

b) Information We Generate From Your Use

• Stocks you save or add to your watchlist
• Your swiping preferences and interaction history
• Quiz responses and financial interest selections
• Friends list and social connections within the App

c) Technical and Device Information

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• IP address and approximate location (country/region level only)
• Crash reports and diagnostic data
• App usage analytics and session data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

• Create and manage your StockSwype account
• Personalise your stock feed and recommendations
• Power your watchlist and saved stocks
• Enable the friends and social features
• Improve app performance and fix bugs
• Respond to support requests and communications

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted backend-as-a-service platform. We apply the following security measures:

• All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
• Data is encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption
• Access to your personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only

While we implement industry-standard safeguards, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access.

4. Third-Party Services

StockSwype integrates with the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

• Google OAuth (via Supabase) — used for authentication if you choose to sign in with Google. Google may collect data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — our database and backend provider. Your account data and app data are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
• Finnhub — used to provide stock metrics, analyst recommendations, financial statements, company profiles, and financial news. No personal information is shared; only anonymous API requests are made.
• Yahoo Finance — used to provide real-time stock prices and chart data. No personal information is shared; only anonymous API requests are made.
• corsproxy.io — a CORS proxy service used to route requests to Yahoo Finance from within the App. No personal information is transmitted through this service.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon receiving a verified deletion request, we will permanently delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy law, including:

• The right to access the personal data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to data portability
• The right to withdraw consent at any time

StockSwype is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete that information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notice or email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
